Born in New Haven, Dr. Denison was raised in Guilford and is a graduate of Guilford High School. After college, Dr. Denison received his dental degree from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Denison was then the first UConn graduate to attend the renowned post-graduate orthodontic program at the University of Washington in Seattle where he also received his Masters degree.
Dr. Denison and his wife have resided in Old Lyme for the past 20 years where they raised two daughters and many rescue dogs. Currently, they are the owners of two rescue Basset Hounds, Truman and Wilson that you may have met while walking downtown Old Lyme.
Upon returning to the area from Seattle, Dr. Denison became a part-time clinical faculty member of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for more than 10 years. Currently, Dr. Denison maintains a strong working relationship with the craniofacial disorders teams at both UConn and Yale.
Dr. Denison is a top level Invisalign® provider, having completed the Master Series course for advanced Invisalign® treatments. Invisalign® is an ever-changing field and Dr. Denison attends yearly courses to keep abreast of Invisalign’s® expanding capabilities.
Skilled at Handling More Complex Cases
If you are considering cosmetic dentistry – implants, veneers, crowns or bridges – talk with Dr. Denison about preprosthetic tooth positioning to optimize the cosmetic work you plan to have done. Likewise, if you are being treated for a periodontal (gum) condition, Dr. Denison will work with your dentist or periodontist in achieving bite correction that helps to optimize oral health. And if necessary, Dr. Denison provides surgical orthodontics, working closely with your oral surgeon to help correct jaw discrepancies in order to correct your bite and enhance your profile.
Over the years, Dr. Denison has treated many patients with special behavioral needs and unique craniofacial disorders. To this end, Dr. Denison maintains a strong relationship with the craniofacial disorders teams at both UConn and Yale. Dr. Denison and his staff are well known for the patience, tenderness and care for children with emotional and behavioral special needs.

Dr. Denison is an avid collector of antiques and don’t be surprised if you bump into him at the crack of dawn on Saturday mornings in the warmer weather months at a local yard sale. Those who know him well expect to see him there. You may also see him running through the village of Old Lyme regularly in the morning or evening. Additionally, he is known by those close to him for his somewhat eclectic and fringe music tastes. As an ardent indie and college rock aficionado, he is a frequent concert-goer.
