Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Due to the increase in nickel allergies seen in our patients, we fully converted our metal braces from stainless steel to titanium in 2008. Metal titanium braces straighten your teeth using brackets and arch wires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth. Please note: There is an upcharge for this.
Invisalign® clear aligner system
The Invisalign Clear Aligner System can achieve the result you want in as little as six months depending on your case. It is more comfortable than braces and perfect for the person who is always on the go with a busy schedule, as it requires the least amount of office visits in addition to being the most discrete of options. We start this process by taking a 3D scan using our iTero Scanner at no cost to you at your initial exam. We use this scan for Dr. Denison to reference as he looks at your bite and smile, as well as to send to the Invisalign Lab to fabricate your custom trays. This is the main reason why we choose to work with Invisalign, as opposed to other clear aligner brands that are not doctor supervised and send kits directly to your home for a DIY treatment. With this technological partnership, we are able to work as a team to provide you with the most accurate results possible.
